This comes from the DoBell ranch. Most all of the material today is gone off of the surface. Even the small chips have been picked up.
They share a fence about 300 yards away from the welcome center at the petrified national park.
It is illegal to take from the park, so this is as close as a person can get. And actually the DoBells have the best claim.
Grandpa Dobell found The rainbow petrified wood, he staked his claim, and the government came out and took the land they have today, from the DoBells.
The government didn’t get the best claim, because the DoBells were living on it, but they took a huge portion around them.
