    Description

    Conifer (Pinales Order)
    Miocene Rhyolitic Flow
    Badger Flat, near Vya, Nevada
    **
Here’s an end cut with a beautiful polished face with a nice natural side on the reverse.  It
    will
display very nicely just sitting on its natural bottom side.  It has excellent definition of very tight growth rings.
This tree was probably dead and down before the advent of the volcanic eruption.  The tight growth rings suggest that the tree was growing on a marginal piece of habitat.   We particularly like the light salmon colored accent hues on the polished  surface.  The exterior also shows nice wood grain character.  A fine addition to any collection.  It measures
3" x 2” on the polished face and
    varies
    between 2
    ” and 1"
    thick.
We specialize in petrified wood and plant fossils which are accurately identified as to locality of origin and family, genus or species. We don't guess and when we don't know, we say so!  Your specimen will come with a label identifying the specimen, the locality where it was collected, the formation and age of the material and any other pertinent information we have gleaned from our literature search.
