Detailed Petrified Wood - Eagle Creek Formation ~ Lot of 3 Pieces

Description

These three pieces of petrified wood are from the Eagle Creek Formation, dated to approximately 30 million years old.
The orange piece appears to be opalized, as evidenced by the beautiful depth shown in the photo above.
The dark branch end piece has incredibly detailed growth rings on both ends.
The long, dark piece is unusual, in that tree ring growth is appears to be going both vertically and horizontally. I believe this is because the piece comes from an area of the tree where a branch was probably growing out away from the trunk. It’s a very unique and interesting piece.
