    Description

"Hearts and Flowers" is the design used on this lovely Northwood Carnival Glass footed compote. It is cobalt blue that appears purple with the iridescence of the Carnival glass process. It is a beautiful rich appearing piece. There is a 1 cm. flat chip on the underside of the base which you can't see without lifting the compote and also a slight roughness at one seam of the base. Neither of these flaws affects the appearance of this piece. It is 6" tall and 6 3/4" in diameter at the top rim. It is not marked but this pattern is shown on the front cover of the 5th Ed. of Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass and identified as being "Hearts and Flowers" by Northwood.
